White Paper on Recruitment via Social Media

Social Media is of growing importance in the recruitment industry. BizPlaza.eu has published a white paper on ‘recruiting via social media’, the first extensive publication in which recruiting via social media is examined from a strategic perspective. We are convinced that this paper provides extremely useful information!

HRMinfo.net, a Belgian knowledge provider and community for HR professionals, released a white paper last January about recruiting via social media. This is the first extensive publication in which recruiting via social media is examined from a strategic perspective and in conjunction with other recruitment methods. The publication also focuses on demonstrable ROIs and best practises. More than 850 copies have already been sold – naturally, mainly in Belgium.

An updated international/English-language edition of the HRMinfo white paper was published at the end of April containing more up-to-date information, a global scope and an additional (third) case study. The chapter providing an overview of the most important European vendors of e-recruitment software offering functionalities for social media has been thoroughly rewritten and expanded.

This English-language white paper is published by BizPlaza.eu, which, just like HRMinfo.net (and HRMblogs.com), is a service/product of BizInfo (www.biz-info.eu).

25 Actonomy contacts can get their hands on a free copy of this unique English-language white paper.

Send an e-mail to freecopy-actonomy@biz-plaza.eu before 15/6/2010 containing your details (name, position, company) for a chance to win one of the 25 free copies of this white paper! You will receive in any case a free copy of the chapter concerning software for facilitating and leveraging social media recruitment.

A detailed table of contents and ‘executive summary’ can be downloaded from www.biz-plaza.eu/whitepaper.

Many people are looking for a job through the Internet using Google. In order to receive attention, vacancies have to be searchable on Google. This is possible by advertising on Google via Google Adwords.

In Adwords you determine which keyword phrases will lead to your company and you can write your own advertising content. Frequently changing vacancies require continuously time and attention as the vacancies have to be updated.

Adchieve - a system developed by Tribal Internet Marketing - allows to keep campaigns completely automatically up to date. Firstly, Adchieve reads in the vacancies contained on a website. Then, Adchieve converts these vacancies into useful search terms and combinations of search terms which are usable in Google.

Besides, Adchieve is linked to Actonomy's knowledge base. Those contain extensive linguistic links between vacancies and job descriptions. Adchieve uses this information to create synonyms for the job descriptions. In Google Adword, those become more traceable on more relevant search terms.

'The knowledge base has been developed in order to obtain an optimal match between vacancies and candidates', says Filip De Geijter, CEO Actonomy, 'But finding more available vacancies via Google first, improves the matching quality. In combination with Adchieve, more relevant jobs are being offered to candidates.'

'In times of relative vacancy shortage, vacancies have to be found quickly by using very targeted campaigns', says Mark Van Werven, Manager Tribal Internet Marketing, 'Better targeting of vacancies avoids costs of vacancy publications that will not be found. This is now possible with Adchieve.'

Tribal Internet Marketing offers Adchieve as paying service at €325 monthly. Furthermore, costs of advertising on Google should be taken into account.
